Maison Chapeau is a capsule collection of carefully curated hats available to rent or for commission. Chosen for their timeless design and inspired by style icons who knew the best style is a communication of who your are and your individuality, I hope they will help you feel as 'you' as possible.
I formed Maison Chapeau after some frustration with the London hat rental market. My experience of finding a hat would often comprise of lots of googling, schlepping to shops on the edge of London or private houses in the countryside, rifling through a lot of hats that would be better suited to my dear mama (or grand-mama) and a deep dig in my wallet.
I hope that Maison Chapeau makes the hunt for the right hat easier and more streamlined, but also encourages freedom of expression and representation of individuals through their styling, even in the case of a formal event which can often feel like a narrowing of acceptable aesthetic. The thing I have always loved about fashion and styling is that it's both escapism and realism in one breath. From how I choose to style myself, you cannot tell who I am or where I come from, but at the same time you know exactly who I am, or at least one vein of my personality, of my true self. You can be exactly who you want to be, exactly who you are inside, through your representation. And that is freedom, which is everything.
